Drip Irrigation System Installation (sub surface)
At first, this looks like a normal Fescue yard, but it has a sub-surface drip system! The city of Lubbock allows home owners to use drip any day of the week while under water restrictions! Also, this Fescue was planted in July, one of the hottest months, and this photo was taken in August! Most fescue looks pitiful and dry in the heat of the summer, but this yard is gorgeous!
Backflow devices are required by the state of Texas on all sprinkler systems. A backflow device is required to be tested every year to every three years depending on the device. We can install, replace, test, and repair any backflow device. This device is called a double check device an it is the most common for the Lubbock area. It will be found below grade in a valve box to prevent it from freezing.
This is the second most common backflow device. It is an Reduced Pressure Zone, or RPZ for short. It is required on any high hazard situation and is required to be tested every year. The RPZ will be installed 12" above grade and must be insulated to prevent freezing.
This is the third most common backflow device. It is an Atmospheric Vacuum Breaker, or AVB for short. It is required on sprinkler systems and is required to be tested every three years. The AVB will be installed above grade and must be insulated to prevent freezing.
This diagram shows the internal operation of the DCV assembly. West Texas Lawn Service can test your backflow device when the city requires an inspection.
